PetCare Animal Hospital (formerly PetCare Associates) was established in 1999 by Dr. Richard Wynn, and was the first veterinary hospital in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Initially the hospital was housed in the Chevron strip mall at the intersection of Hog Mountain Road and Spout Springs Road. The hospital quickly outgrew that location and moved to its present home in a new, free-standing building at 5250 Hog Mountain Road.
Dr. Vanessa Dodson and Dr. Keith Cox both began working at PetCare Animal Hospital in 2005, and in 2008 Dr. Cox bought the practice when Dr. Wynn passed away. In 2019 Dr. Cox left private practice to go to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Dr. Dodson purchased the practice, fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a practice owner.
Throughout the history of PetCare Animal Hospital, providing compassionate, customized care for pet patients and friendly, efficient service for their families has been the goal. Got a question? Just call. Want to try a new treatment for your pet’s condition? We’ll be happy to advise. Don’t know whether you should see the vet or wait it out? Reach out to us and we’ll let you know.
We understand that your pet is part of the family, but even so, each family has specific needs and parameters. We will always do our best to work within those while making sure your pet gets the care he or she needs.
PetCare Animal Hospital is one of the few remaining independently run veterinary hospitals around, and that makes all the difference in the level of care we’re able to provide our pet patients. Thanks to the commitment of our animal-loving team and the freedom they’re given to practice high-quality medicine on their own terms, our clients and their best furry friends keep coming to us, year after year after year, for everything from basic wellness and vaccinations to surgery and advanced diagnostic services. Come experience family-based vet care at its finest!
